The pennine vehicle is ex - Ribble CK4297,
one of a batch purchased second hand in 1938. Note the luggage rack.
The date was June 1943 and the bus had white edges to the mud guards and had to have blacked out head lamps with only a slit. The bus was Leyland Tiger, new in 1930, the chassis number was 61091 and the body was made by Leyland. The bus was a front entrance service bus with 31 seats, it was taken out of service in October 1949. ( Photo courtesy of Pennine Motors ) |
